China trade shows
19 trade shows in mainland China and Hong Kong across furniture, housewares, lighting, hardware, and consumer goods. China shows are unusual in two ways: most are huge (Canton Fair is one of the world's largest by buyer volume), and most are periodic multi-vertical rather than category-pure.

What to know about China shows
Buyer geography
Canton Fair leads because of international buyer footfall: roughly 180,000+ overseas buyers per edition, vs. ~25,000 for CIFF. CIFF is more China-domestic-buyer-heavy. ECF skews Chinese-buyer but has a smaller overseas contingent than Canton.
If your target market is US/EU buyers: Canton Fair. If your target is Chinese retail/domestic chains: CIFF. If your target is small commodity buyers (small hardware, small home goods): Yiwu.
Booth economics
China shows are cheaper than US/EU shows for similar booth size. A 9 sqm booth at Canton Fair Phase 2 home goods ranges $2,500-4,000 all-in. Comparable space at ASD Las Vegas is $6,000-9,000. But buyer quality per inquiry may be lower at China shows for non-import/export buyers.
Chinese-factory-specific considerations
- You may not need to exhibit if a customer already sources through your factory. China shows are mostly for OEM/ODM factories looking for new buyers.
- Canton Fair is harder to get into than most shows. Phases are product-specific and applications need to clear a category review.
- Yiwu is friendly for small-batch factories. Canton Fair rewards scale.
Cross-border VAT and customs
Exhibited goods that get sold and shipped out of China follow the same export customs procedure as goods shipped from your factory. Plan ahead if buyers want goods shipped direct from the show.
Language and logistics
You can run a booth with English- and Chinese-speaking staff. Most major shows have matchmaking services that help pair overseas buyers with relevant factories. We can introduce you to these services on a paid basis.
When to skip China shows
Skip Canton Fair, CIFF, ECF if you're only selling to US/EU buyers and have an existing relationship network. Use the buyer introduction service instead (see Show ROI).
Attend if:
- You want 100+ new buyer contacts in 5 days
- You want to test a new product in front of buyers
- You're targeting the China-domestic channel
- You want to benchmark against competitors exhibiting
